We have been a Mid-Fla customer for many years and have always been satisfied with the service we have received. We have had two AC/Heating units replaced over the years, and when and if we had any problems they were right there to correct any problems. Today I would like to recognize Andrew for the excellent service he provided by answering all our questions and installing a Germicidal UVC and Oxidation UVV System. We could not be more pleased with his professionalism as he is the best. Another recognition is Cody who is the dispatcher and kept us informed of when Andrew would arrive. What started as a “shopping around” for a new unit, turned into an emergency install! I met with Wes Hart on a Tuesday to discuss a new unit and installation. I had not made my decision yet, and had a few other companies to meet with still.

Wes was prompt, friendly, and immediately loved on my two very needy dogs. He took time to greet them and me and listen to what I had going on. Without me saying much, Wes went through my house and spotted the issues that needed to be fixed and came up with a VERY reasonable price when I ended up needing more than just a new unit. I needed all new duct work as mine was from the 60’s!!

After some time discussing the plan, I agreed that Mid Fla Heating and Air was who I wanted to go with. I signed the contract and had the team ready to go for a Thursday install. A few hours after Wes left, my whole unit stopped blowing cold air. I didn’t realize this until it was 11pm and my house was 83 degrees! I spent a MISERABLE night in my home, and text Wes the following morning (Wed) at 7:30am asking if there was ANYTHING anyone could do.

Man, when I tell you Wes jumped into action! He was able to bump up my install of my new unit to today!!! The technicals are here now installing my new unit so that I can have AC! My duct work will be installed on Friday. Wes also offered to bring a portable AC unit if I needed it, but I didn’t!

This is the kind of service that you rarely see and hardly hear of! Thank you Wes, Bobbie, and Jason for making me a priority today!

Chris Clubb was extremely professional, courteous and very knowledgeable, regarding an explanation of my heat pump and cooling system. He thoroughly explained every aspect of how the system is designed to run, how it is presently operating, and what can be done to improve the efficiency of my system. He is an asset to your company. He was truly patient and helpful, answering all of my questions and addressing my concerns, regarding the issues I’m experiencing with my heating and cooling. This information helps me make an educated decision regarding what work I need done immediately, versus work I may have done in the future. We have a maintenance contract with Mid-Fla Heating and Air. The last service call was made by James E. He was very courteous and timely when he arrived at our house. He explained the work he was doing and answered my questions in a gracious manner. James completed his work in an efficient manner.

We have two AC units which are 10 years old but look half that age. I believe a lot of the reason why the systems are in such good shape is the maintenance service by Mid-Fla. It is a cost effective method to prolonging the life of a HVAC system. I will continue to use Mid-Fla and recommend them to family and friends.

TL;DR: Rocky start, but Mid Florida Heating & Air went above and beyond to make it right — Shout out to Dustin and Fernando!
I’ve been using Mid Florida for HVAC maintenance for about 5 years. The unit in my home was 15+ years old and the air handler (in the garage) was on a janky wooden shelf about 3 feet high. Over time, this caused drainage issues — water would back up, trip the float switch, and need to be drained/cleaned every 4–6 months.
Eventually, this patchwork approach wasn’t cutting it. During a recent visit, Dustin (technician) confirmed that the wood was rotted, “organic growth” was forming (yikes), and water was pouring everywhere — garage, duct board, and into the house. At that point, there was no saving it. Full replacement was the only option.
This is where the sales pitch came in — and as someone with 20 years of sales experience, I saw it a mile away. I was asked, “What do you think it would cost to replace everything?” I replied, “Maybe $15k?” — which is used to gauge my price comfort zone. Soon after, I got a quote: $18,400. But I came prepared. I had receipts from my parents and a friend who had nearly identical work done for around $10k. When I showed this, Dustin was honest and clarified that their initial proposal included a deluxe package with extras like UV lights, extended warranty, etc.
To his credit, Dustin and the manager walked through everything with me, line by line, and price-matched where possible. I appreciated the transparency and the fact that it wasn’t done behind closed doors. We settled on $11,400 with financing (unfortunately, at a high 11.9% interest rate despite my 770 credit score). Monthly payments came out to around $155 over 8 years.
Install day: I was told the crew would arrive between 9–9:30am. They showed up at 11am. Right away, red flags: The lead installer told me they didn’t need to remove all the rotten wood. Despite Dustin’s original recommendation to set the new unit on the concrete slab, they skipped it. Not being an HVAC expert, I told them, OK!
That decision backfired. One day after installation, the new AC stopped working. No cold air, no response. I called Mid Florida and was told a tech would come before 8pm that day. No one came. No calls. No texts. Just 86° in the house with fans blowing and me stuck talking to an AI chatbot named Dwayne on their emergency line — not helpful.
The next day, Dustin came back around 2:30pm and immediately noticed the installation was done completely against his original work order. The rotten wood was still under the unit, duct board laid over it, and the drain issue had already caused the new system to shut off. He was visibly disappointed and completely honest with me about what went wrong.
Here’s where Mid Florida really earned back my trust: Dustin made a few calls, and by 6pm on a Friday, a 5-man crew (led by Fernando) showed up to rip out and redo the entire install. These guys worked like champs — varsity team, no exaggeration — and stayed until 11pm to get it done properly. No shortcuts this time. Everything was leveled, installed on the slab, and matched Dustin’s original specs.
I later learned that the original install crew was fired — a move that shows me the company does take accountability seriously.

The Good:
Technician Dustin is professional, honest, and solutions-oriented.
Fernando and his crew were absolute rock stars.
Transparent negotiation when it came to pricing.
Mid Florida stepped up and made it right, even late on a Friday night.

The Bad:

Original quote was steep before being challenged.
First install was rushed and not per spec.
Poor communication on the night my new unit failed.
Emergency line routed to an AI chatbot — not what you want when your AC is out.

Bottom line: While the process had some bumps, I truly respect the way Mid Florida handled the problem once it was brought to light. Mistakes happen — but what matters most is how a company responds. In this case, they owned it, fixed it fast, and worked late to deliver what was promised.
We appreciate that you were willing to proce-match on this big job. Trevor Mock and helpers did good work in uncomfortably hot weather and humid conditions under mobile home, and "went the extra mile" to make sure the AC was working by the time they left. Also, pleasant and patient in explaining what they needed to do. We will schedule twice yearly maintenance for 1/2026. Thank you all for 5 Star service,, and Trevor Mock does deserve this best rating

6 months later David was here for the routine system check. Again a very pleasant person, very efficient check of the system, taking time to explain to me what he was doing and why, one part needed replacing. Over all very satisfied with Mid-Florida...

Only one bugaboo... calling on the phone means you might get a robot... It was frustrating trying to communicate with him. It took me several minutes to realize it was a robot.. duh... I was promised by the robot I would receive a callback concerning billing... but no one ever called back. I called several times over a two day period and the robot promised call back each time... Never any call back.. No way to get a live operator. No call backs... Makes ya wonder..... Ah the age of AI.... Hope they either get rid of the robot or get it up and running.

Dustin was tired when he arrived at the end of the day (9 pm), but he carefully diagnosed the problem with the defrost board and then bypassed the faulty circuit until the new board could arrive. He restored AC service before he left. First rate service from a skilled professional.

I have to say... WTH happened to real communication??? At least with an answering service, they could covey your dire of emergency! My father is recently widowed; 5 months ago, a veteran of 33 years and a senior citizen, amongst other health conditions.
They sent a technician out yesterday, 7/17/2025 who apparently they just hired that has no knowledge of making repairs. NO OFFENSE TO HIM BY ANY MAEANS! Definitely not his fault. In actuality, he was very professional and informed my father he did not know how to make the repair.
Another SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT WAS MADE theough the company where a tike was arranged for an experienced tech to evaluate and diagnose the issue with the A/C unit. An appointment was made that same day the inexperienced tech was there for the following day, Friday, January 18. No worries, NORMAL BUSINESS hours for he would wait around in the FL HUMIDITY AND HEAT and they were a " NO SHOW"! My father called, asking for an update. Can you believe they informed him the technician was more than a 2 hour drive away??? After there was a no show at the given time given, he's resorted for finding windows A/C units from acquaintances afar. Remember, he's a widowed, senior citizen veteran. I'm calling him at this time to obtain a SITREP from him. My apologies, I'm at veteran as well, USMC. I'm being told they were a no show and he's attempted to make contact with them and only able to contact their answering service. After the brief conversation and update, I informed him I would place a call into them.
Oh... I call and immediately realize on the other end of the phone is "AI"!!!! I made many attempts trying to bring my point across how important it was my father was taken care of in this matter, regardless, everything was an automated response. I informed the "AI" i was notifying "BBB" & the attorney general's office about filing a complaint in their negligence and disregard to a veteran, widowed senior citizen on a VERY fixed income, now! No feelings whatsoever and i was told they would deliver the message.
Two plus hous later, I haven't received a message, email, or phone call back from them. That also includes my father not hearing back from them.
In light, I would HIGHLY suggest anyone and everyone to steer away from this company for they could CARE LESS about CUSTOMER SATISFACTION AND APPRECIATION!
PROVE US WRONG, I'd be happy to make a REVISION to this evaluation!

Had a technician come out to do a simple maintenance on my bosh system and was unsure about the quality of work when our system went from 76 before maintenance to a humid sticky 84 after he left. After a quick call they sent out Logan and Andrew to assess the issue, they were diligent and knowledgeable while also highly skilled and determined to get to the bottom of it , long story short who knew that a factory reset on the thermostat should not be reset by untrained people such as myself, totally my fault .
